Life groups are small gatherings of Church members meeting in and across Gloucester. They are a great way to get connected with others in the church. Because they involve few people desiring to do life together, Life Groups are the best way to grow in your relationship with Jesus, and deepen your understanding of God's call and purpose on your life.
We believe that real life change happens best within intentional relationships. Life Groups provide that opportunity. With a strong community of friends, you can laugh, grow, and serve with people who genuinely care about you.
Following Jesus is best done in community - fellowshipping together helps us to thrive through friendship, encouragement and supporting one another.
Life Groups were created as environments that would be conducive to building two things:
1. Authentic community - discovering what God is saying to individuals.
2. A non-threatening place where open and honest dialogue about the faith journey can take place.
This is achieved through a combination of social aspects such as meals and games, plus spiritual inputs which can vary in range from Bible study, personal testimony, discussions on specific subjects, communal prayer and intercession. Meetings are structured to fit the requirements of the life groups. Each group develops in a unique manner, though they all share the same principles and aims.
Life Groups meet on different days of the week. Meetings usually happen in the evening and last up to an hour and a half. Most of the time, Life Groups will meet at a facilitator’s home but may as well move around to different homes. There is also a day time Life Group which meets regularly at church - Check the Calendar.
Although the Life Group leaders generally facilitate the discussion, all members journey together in their exploration of the faith.
